The Animal Care
Dog Adoption Process

Complete Form

To start the adoption process please complete the adoption form below.

Wait

At this stage you will need to wait for our animal manager to contact you.

Successful

If your application is successful you will be invited to make an appointment to come and meet the dogs.

Unsuccessful

If you haven’t heard from us within 7 days of applying, we’re sorry to say your application has been unsuccessful this time.

Appointment

When you arrive for your appointment you will be given the opportunity to spend time with the dog. If you decide it’s the right dog for you, you will be able to reserve it.

Home Check

A home checker will then visit you at home to check your garden/yard is secure for the dog you are interested in.

Dog Visits

We ask that adopters come and visit the dog 3 times promptly within a 5-7 day period. This is so you can bond with the dog and it’s not going home with a stranger.

Best Friend For Life

You will then take your dog home for a week’s trial and if you are happy with the way the trial works out, you can adopt the dog at the end of the week.

To Start The Dog Adoption Process Please Complete The Form Below

To ensure each animal is rehomed with someone who meets their needs, we run on an appointment only basis. We want all the animals in our care to find their perfect home. For that to happen, we have to consider their needs as well as yours.

    Adoption Terms & Conditions

Successful applicants must undergo a standard home check. Are you happy for a member of staff or volunteer to carry out a home check to assess the suitability of your home to adopt a dog.

Your new dog has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and de-flead. I understand that a minimum donation of £150 is to be paid for a dog and this is a small contribution towards upkeep and vet treatment.

You understand that the dog will be rehomed as a pet and is not to be kept outside. The dog is to be a companion and not used for breeding purposes. Animal Care retains ownership of the dog, and reserves the right to reclaim it if it is suspected that it is not being fed, housed or cared for to the satisfaction of Animal Care. Should the dog ever leave your care it must be returned to Animal Care BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT or a new home must be vetted by Animal Care.
You understand that you retain the full liability for any vet fees incurred at any time from the time of adoption unless the dog is on Animal Care foster scheme.
You understand that although we tell you everything we know about a dog we are rehoming, we do not always have a complete history, and there for we cannot guarantee health/behaviour 100%. Animal Care will provide on-going support to all adopters of our animals. It may take 6 months or more for a dog to settle in to its new home.
I understand that Animal Care cannot refund any money after the adoption. THIS FORM WILL BE KEEP ON FILE FOR 3 MONTHS AND NO INFORMATION WILL BE SOLD OR PASSED ON. IT IS ONLY USED FOR THE STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS TO FIND YOU THE RIGHT ANIMAL FOR YOUR NEEDS.
